Chemical Dependency Treatment
Prodigal offers a two-phase chemical dependency treatment program aimed at helping men who have ongoing relapse episodes. Candidates for our program are men who are unable to abstain from chemical use, jobless, homeless, lack social network and without family support. We have the flexibility to place clients in our High Intensity or Low Intensity tracts according to their clinical needs, and moving them from level to level as they progress in their treatment.
Residential:
A structured period of time, usually about forty five days, during which the client identifies his personal relapse triggers, acknowledges consequences of chemical use, learns about relapse prevention strategies, participates in an exercise program, develops his individual relapse prevention plans, and forms a social network. |
Program Activities
Activities in program include job assignments aimed at teaching responsibility, accountability and actualizing growth. Other desired results are learning how to take directions and completing job assignments, learning how to give directions, supervising others, learning to deal responsibly with people in authority and how to deal with frustration, boredom, anger, anxiety, etc., in a constructive and responsible manner.
Placement Procedure
Professional or self-referral must make placement through the Program Director or Executive Director. Clients needing public funding must be assessed by a county designated assessor and receive placement authorization from the county. |
